Asian Pacific Heritage Dinner

Those who've been around the Air Force long enough are familiar with our many ethnic heritage events. Friday night, we celebrated Asian-Pacific heritage here at Misawa. It was a really fun event with...
hula dancing...
a polynesian rythym show...
friends, Japanese beer...
and my sweet barong (fancy white filipino shirt).
The highlight of the evening was probably our guest speaker, Mr Akebono. Mr Akebono is famous for becoming the first foreign-born grand champion sumo wrestler. After retirement, he went on to wrestle a bit in some "entertainment" wrestling leagues to include the WWE. He was actually very modest and could really put down the Coronas.

Girl Power!

We took Angelica, Helen, Arie, and McKenzie rock climbing today. We all had alot of fun and the four little girls really stepped their climbing up a notch.

We're still here!

Some folks have been complaining that I don't update my blog enough. So, I figured I'd drop in and post a couple of pics. Friday night, Helen and Angelica had their last Brownie sleepover of the (school) year. They each received a certificate and Angelica "bridged" over to Junior Girl Scouts. I guess it gets serious now with merit badges and that sort of thing. Today, we all worked on Angelica's pinata project. They'll be decorating it in her spanish class. I've also started a new Misawa rock climbing website. If you'd like to check that out, you can go to http://sites.google.com/site/misawaclimbers/. It has plenty of pics and that sort of thing.
