Those who've been around the Air Force long enough are familiar with our many ethnic heritage events. Friday night, we celebrated Asian-Pacific heritage here at Misawa. It was a really fun event with...

hula dancing...

a polynesian rythym show...

friends, Japanese beer...

and my sweet barong (fancy white filipino shirt).

The highlight of the evening was probably our guest speaker, Mr Akebono. Mr Akebono is famous for becoming the first foreign-born grand champion sumo wrestler. After retirement, he went on to wrestle a bit in some "entertainment" wrestling leagues to include the WWE. He was actually very modest and could really put down the Coronas.
